The current animal population have had valuable experience with babies and have observed relatives caring for young, using this learning and experience to enable them to rear their own offspring Birth of critically endangered orangutan at Chester Zoo Bornean Orangutans have been considered critically endangered since 2016 with an only an estimated 100,000 left in the wild.
