Spiky is my mom’s dog. He’s 11 years old now, and he’s a very sweet, smart boy. But he still remembers the day a mad bee stung him.
He was just 4 months old, trying to help Mom with beekeeping, when a bee got stuck in his fur and stung him right on the back. It was the scariest moment of his little life.
Now he’s not scared of bumblebees, yellow jackets, or even mosquitoes, but if he hears the sound of a honeybee he’s hiding under the couch, under the car, anywhere the bees won’t find him.
And it’s not just the sound. If he sees the bee smoker or any of the beekeeping gear he’s gone.
He’s brave in every other way just not when it comes to bees.
