A couple of years ago I tried making some camping gear - my attempt at a shelter was a bit of a disaster. With this project, I have another go and this time to my own design rather than the plans found in an ancient magazine. Starting materials were a bedsheet and an old pair of jeans.

I used Nikwax Cotton Proof as the waterproofer - this made it somewhat waterproof.

This tarp, I then took on week long adventure as my only shelter - how did it and me cope? You can find out soon!
